A Season Of Learning
Posted 8 Sep 2009
This has been a very beneficial flying season for me. I have learned quite a bit and am having fun flying. One of the reasons is because I got the book The Pilot's Guide to Mastering Radio Controlled Flight by Scott Stoops.
This is by far the best written book on flying radio controlled models that I have ever read. How would you describe Scott Stoops? Simple, a lifetime in aviation would be an accurate description of the involvement Scott Stoops has had in both the R/C modeling world and full-scale aviation! He brings his knowledge and compassion of flight into a book that is easy for anyone to understand and learn from. From learning the "basics" to 3D Flight, it's all in one book.
I highly recommend this to EVERY R/C PILOT. You can look at Scott's website here: The Pilot's Guide to Mastering Radio Controlled Flight by Scott Stoops. If ever there was a "BIBLE" for our hobby, this would be it!
Working on what I have been learning this summer (2009), I want to start to learn International Miniature Aerobatic Club (IMAC) sequences next year. This includes getting my left thumb more in the game, using the RUDDER even more.
But with any desire, it makes it so much easier to achieve your goal if you have the right tool for the job. After talking with several members of MAM, I am getting an idea of the models I want to build for next year...

Welcome to my BLOG
Posted 2 Sep 2009
Well, I have decided to construct another Blog. For this Blog I want to follow the projects I build, and then fly. I want to show the progression form the planning stages through flying the models! This is a process that can take many months, or even years to complete. I have done this type of work before while building models and you can get a "taste" of this here: USS Crocket Build.
I welcome everyone to post their comments or questions... now on to the 1st Project.
